✦ Synopsis

Lily Dawson is a rich lady with her enough money to travel in a private coach to the town of Brimstone. She married a wealthy banker in New York and inherited his property when he died. Now shes on her way to meet Doctor Noah Kearney in the hopes of building a new life as a mail order bride.

Things take a turn for the worse when her private coach drops her off at a magnificent estate instead of the bedraggled Brimstone Hotel. The driver dumps her luggage on the front lawn and drives away, leaving Lily abandoned. Before she can decide what to do, a dapper gentleman comes out and invites her to stay until she can sort out the misunderstanding. He introduces himself as Merrill Fox.

Though he puts her at ease with his genteel manner, he quickly starts to show his true colors. He tries to convince her to marry him instead of the doctor, and when she refuses, he tries to force her. Can she ever escape from the gilded cage in which she finds herself trapped? Is this the end of her dream of a new life?
