β¦ Synopsis
Three years ago, the authors ( '36) reported biochemical studies of the tissues of the genital tract of the female macaque, especially in relation to the menstrual cycle. The concentrations of water, total nitrogen and glycogen, as well as the amount of ash recovered after combustion were investigated. In the present report these observations have been extended to include various lipoids. Neutral fat, total phosphatide, and free and esterified cholesterol have been determined in the mucosa and smooth muscle of the body and cervix of the uterus and in the mucosa of the vagina. a We are indebted to Schering-Kahlbaum ,4.
