โฆ Synopsis
An effusion-mass spectrometric study of the vapor species produced by the reaction of MgCiz(g) with Mg(g) was performed in the temperature range 982 to 1243 K. From the reaction enthalpies second and third law heats of formation for MgCl(g) were obtained, yielding a D,-, of 77.4 2 0.5 kcal/mole for the dissociation of MgCl to ground state atoms.
