A liquid-liquid distribution method, with heptane as the organic solvent, involving evaluation of the concentration of free I-by magnetic circular dichroism, has been developed for determining the bound amounts of 12/1< in the amyloseiodine complex in unbuffered aqueous solutions. The effect of Iz a

✦ Synopsis
The theoretical polarographic characteristic of the iodine-iodide system has been derived, taking into account the dissociation constant of Is-. The range of applicability of some approximate expressions has been determined. The agreement between the theoretical and experimental polarograms has been verified in acetonitrile and in aqueous 1 M HClO,.

The rate of decomposition of allyl iodide has been measured from 742°K to 1068°K and from 169 to 1429 torr using a shock tube method in which the disappearance of allyl iodide and the appearance of iodine are followed simultaneously. The kinetics are first order in allyl iodide and probably are slig
Experimental observation shows that photoconductivity decay kinetics in T-grain AgBr(1) emulsions obeys the first-order reaction rule which is not affected by the addition of iodide. The addition of iodide, however, significantly affects the mean lifetime of photoelectrons. With the increase of iodi
