✦ Synopsis

Dimesitylborane, 1, is a readily available, solid, stable borane that is the most selective known reagen? for the regioselective hydroboration of unsymmetrical alkynes. In addition all-alkynes are selectively hydroborated compared with even terminal alkenes. The hydroborazn of alkenes with 1 is slow and sensitive to steric factors, thus giving promise of good selectivity between dl .? ferent types of alkene.
