✦ Synopsis

This paper deals with the loss of performance due to transient adaptation processes at VDU workplaces. Experiments under simulated office conditions have shown that luminance differences between the source document and the screen up to a ratio of about 20:1 have no definite effect on the time reqmred for reformation entry. A very high ratio, however, of 100.1 has led to a significant deterioration of work performance 18.1.30 (101157)
