β¦ Synopsis
INTBODUOTORY
Studies of embryonic and fetal behavior now include such forms as the toadfish, salamander, turtle, chick, rat, guinea pig, cat and human. The results of these studies have become familiar through the reports of Coghill ( '09, '29 a and b ) , Minkowski ( '20, '21), Windle et al. ( '31, '33), Angulo ( '32), and others.2 Early observations were made on the chick by Preyer (1885), who summarized the literature up to his time.
