✦ Synopsis

Sequential (\mathrm{N})-body codes have been in existence for many years. This paper shows how their algorithms may be adapted to produce an N.body code to run on a paraliel machine and describes the implementation of such a code upon the EdinburglΔ± Concurrent Supercomputer. The performance of the final program is analyzed, and an appendix discusses the optimal choice of the order of the integrator. 'C) 1994 Academic Press, Inc.
