✦ Synopsis

The developing velocity profiles of fluids flowing into a porous media were solved analytically for a two-dimensional channel bounded by impermeable walls. Three inlet velocity distributions were considered. The effect of the inlet velocity and the Darcy number on the variation of the velocity distribution was examined and the entrance lengths were determined.
