TETRISO, O,O-di i sopropyl S-(2-di i sopropyl ami noethyl ph~sphorothiolate, was detoxified by Bacillus cereus T., a gram positive spore forming microorganism. It was found that, after 5 days, a crude soluble fraction of Bacillus cereus T. eliminates up to 92% of acetylcholinesterase inhibition caused by TETRISO, in the concentration range 10 -3 to 10-5M.

Bacillus cereus ATCC 14579 transformed naphthalene predominately to l-naphthol. Experiments with [lgC]naphthalene showed that over a 24 h period, B. cereus oxidized 5.2% of the added naphthalene. 1-Naphthol accounted for approximately 80% of the total metabolites. B. cereus incubated with naphthalen
