โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

Radiometric determination of uranium and of thorium in their compounds can be effected in principle by gamma counting with a scintillation spectrometer.

The complications that arise when the radioactive equilibrium with the daughter products in the samples to be analysed is not established, are discussed.

A method has been developed for the spcctrophotomctric dctcrmination of indium in uranium and thorium metals and their salts in the range 0.x to x0 p.p.m. According to SANDELL 1, mdium can be separated by oxinc-chloroform extraction at pa 3.5, but clemcnts such as gallium, aluminium, cobalt, nickel
