β¦ Synopsis
A~tract--A method for the determination of the solubility parameter components 6d, 6p, 6 h of polymers has been proposed. The method is based on a simple geometrical model in three-dimensional space. The determination is based on the application of three mixtures of solvents. For each mixture from the maximum of partial specific volume, the point of maximum interaction between the mixture and the polymer has been obtained. The values of partial specific volume have been determined by the optical method of Hailer. The following components of the solubility parameter of polystyrene have been obtained (sd = 18.1 _+ 0.1, (50 = 1.9 + 0.4, (sh = 2.8 _+ 0.8 and total parameter (50 = 18.4 _+ 0.9, all values in (J/ml) L' 2.
