✦ Synopsis

A convenient method is described for the determination of the activity of amidases immobilised in polyacrylamide beads using an ammonia-sensitive glass electrode. The release of ammonia can be followed on a chart recorder. Comparison can be made between different preparations and the effects of storage and trypsin on the immobilised amidases can be assessed conveniently within the technique.
