โฆ Synopsis
During the continuing rapid daelopment of analytical methods based on immobilized enzymes, several techniques have been described for the determination of glucose. For example, glucose oxidase (E.C.1.1.3.4) entrapped in polyacrylamide gel was used by Updike and Hicks in two methods. In one case [l] , the hydrogen peroxide produced during the oxidation of glucose was detected b!r measuring the increase in absorbance of an oxidized dye in the presence of a second enzyme, horseradish peroxidase (E.C.1.11.1.7): the limit of detection was approximatily 10 pg ml-' _ In the second method [2] a layer of immobilized
