## THE DETERMINATION OF TERBIURI(II1) IN BORATE' GLASSES" The development of lasers has greatly increased interest both in the luminescence of rare earths in glasses, and in the analytical determination of their composition. Moreover, the increasing use of inorganic glasses as matrices for trapped

β¦ Synopsis
Less than 2% interference was caused by iron, cobalt, manganese(II), phosphate, molybdate, acetate, fluoride, sulfate, and chloride. The following ions were tolerated in the indicated amounts : nickel, 50 mg ; vanadate, 50 rng ; bromide, 50 "16 ; aluminum, 40 rng; lead, 35 mg; zirconium, 5 mg; iodide, z mg. Perchlorate interferes to such an extent that it must be completely excluded from the analysis. ANALYSIS FOR COPI'XR IN NilS STASDARD SAMPLES ____~___._ .%rllplc "/, Ctr/orc1rd
