โœฆ Synopsis

An axial multiple-reflection

cell of optical path length about 2 m has been designed for use with a Perkin-Elmer 12C spectrometer.

The basic optical theory is discussed and the important constructional details are given. The special features of this cell are its relatively small volume and its robust construction which makes it suitable for use with gases at high pressures.

## Abstract Mechanical compression has been shown to impact cell activity; however a need for a single device to perform a broader range of parametric studies exists. We have developed an oscillatory displacement controlled device to uniaxially strain cell constructs under both static and dynamic c
