✦ Synopsis

The Qo factor of a hemispherical open resonator operating at the 94-GHzjkquency band is analyzed using three loss factors. The relatwnship of Q , with resonator length is used i n the design of a high-Qo-factor, small-size hemispherical open resonator. With this open resonator, a system for low-loss materials measurements is constructed. Theoretical results of the Qo factor are investigated by experiments. Some quartz slab samples are measured by this system.
