β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
The depletion of aldrin, dieldrin and Ξ³βBHC from sheep dipping baths under field conditions has been examined. The methods of sampling and infraβred analysis of the insecticide are fully described.
The factors affecting the depletion rate of sheep dips are discussed and the results show that where the initial concentration is high, rapid depletion occurs. A more constant insecticide level may be achieved by lowering the initial concentration and increasing the amount of chemical added at topping up. Further work is in progress.
