โฆ Synopsis
The influence on Rw of the profile of the transmission loss curve is analyzed on the basis of simple smooth-shaped transmission loss curves. The contributions of the main shape parameters are analyzed comparatively with respect to the influence on the insulation ratings in dB(A), R A. Optimum shapes of transmission loss curves concerning Rw and RA are discussed. New aspects of the correlation between Rw and RA are reported. In particular, it is found that both indices are related by a translation in the sense of probability theory. Further considerations concern the equivalence of "rating curve procedures" and "weighting network procedures", and their repercussions on short measuring methods.
