Abstract

The management of munitions and unexploded ordnance (UXO) and associated regulatory requirements on ranges are of paramount importance to the Department of Defense (DOD). This article will summarize the key provisions of the proposed range rule as published in the Federal Register on September 26, 1997 and its associated risk assessment methodology.
