โœฆ Synopsis

An algorithm for the decomposition matrix of (\operatorname{Suz}(q)) is given. By using this algorithm, results of Feit and Chastkofsky, and some other techniques, two rows of the matrix, which correspond to the two imaginary irreducible ordinary characters, are determined. Some other entries are also determined by the same method, also several formulas for the entries of the first column which corresponds to the projective cover of the trivial module are given. As an application all decomposition numbers of (\operatorname{Suz}\left(2^{2 n+1}\right)) for (n \leqslant 3) are determined. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.

Consider a finite Chevalley group G p defined over a field of p elements, p a prime. The projective indecomposable characters in characteristic p are indexed by the p n -restricted weights. If a weight is p-restricted, it is also p n -restricted. If โŒฝ is the corresponding projective , n ลฝ n . indeco
