✦ Synopsis
Berta Mast is dying. Since one of her twin sons refuses to come home to see her before she dies, her other twin, Robert, decides to do something about it. He’ll impersonate his brother. They used to do it as children, and it always worked. Now, with the stakes much higher, he does it again. His motivation is pure: he wants to comfort his mother by allowing her to see both her sons before she passes.
But Robert doesn’t realize the implications. Now, he has to pretend to court Lindy instead of her sister Rachel. And when Lindy discovers his deception, he wants her to go along with it, which means lying. How did something that started out so innocently, turn into something so fraught with problems?
And that isn’t all. Robert finds himself drawn to Lindy. She is so kind and loving as she tends his mother during her last days. But it can’t be. He’s committed to her sister, just as Lindy is committed to his brother. Nothing is working out, and the more Robert tries to fix things, the worse everything gets.
