โœฆ Synopsis

For remote gas temperatures close to the adiabatic flame temperature, the flame response is qualitatively different, with negative flame speed solutions which may be physically accessible.

An axially stretched, cylindrical premixed flame was formed by using a radial-flow nozzle burner, which made it possible to produce a highly stretched flow field in laminar conditions and to investigate the extinction characteristics of the flame over a wide range of equivalence ratios.
