An axially stretched, cylindrical premixed flame was formed by using a radial-flow nozzle burner, which made it possible to produce a highly stretched flow field in laminar conditions and to investigate the extinction characteristics of the flame over a wide range of equivalence ratios. Using this b

โฆ Synopsis
For sufficiently cool remote gases, the cylindrical stretched flame shows classical ignition-extinction behavior. For remote gas temperatures close to the adiabatic flame temperature, the flame response is qualitatively different, with negative flame speed solutions which may be physically accessible.
