## Abstract The discoveries of antiferromagnetic coupling in Fe/Cr multilayers by Grünberg, the Giant MagnetoResistance by Fert and Grünberg and a large tunneling magnetoresistance at room temperature by Moodera have triggered enormous research on magnetic thin films and magnetoelectronic devices.
