β¦ Synopsis
We examine the critical behavior of a finite alternating ferromagnetic superlattice based on the transverse Ising model. By the use of the transfer matrix method, we derive a nonlinear equation for the phase transition temperature of the superlattice. The critical temperature of the alternating superlattice is calculated as a function of the intralayer and interlayer exchange interactions, the strength of the transverse field and the superlattice thickness.

We present an alternative method for the exact calculations of the Wannier-Stark (WS) localization in a long periodic potential corresponding to a (50 Γ /30 Γ ) GaAs/Ga 0.7 Al 0.3 As superlattice. We show that the electric field dependence of the electron wavefunction has unique localization dynamics.
