✦ Synopsis


The effect of the superplasticizer 'Melment' on the creep and related properties of concrete has been studied under extreme conditions, in which the strength of the control concrete was the maximum attainable with the cement and aggregates used in the experiment, and in which the admixture dosage level was high enough to change slump from the original value of zero to collapsed, at constant mix proportions.

It was observed that creep of the superplasticized concrete was 10% higher than in the control concrete, and that there was an increase in drying shrinkage, ranging from I0% at early and late ages, to about 25% at intermediate ages.

The strength attained after 7 to 28 days of fog curing was not affected by the use of superplasticizer, whereas the strength developed after 18 months of drying was increased by about 15%.

The effect of Melment on the modulus of elasticity was negligible.

Die Wirkung, die der 'Melment'-Superweichmacher auf das Kriechen sowie auf die damit verbundenen Eigenschaften aus~ibt, ist unter extremsten Bedingungen untersucht worden, wobei die Festigkeit des Kontrollbetons das mit den im Versuch verwendeten Zement sowie Zus~tzen erreichbare Maximum war, und die Zusatzdosierung ausreichte, un eine Senkung vom Ausgangswert Null in einen Zusammenbruchszustand bei gleichbleibenden Vermischungsmengenverh~ltnissen zu verwandeln.

Es wurde beobachtet, dab der Kriechenswert des mit dem Superweichmacher hergestellten Betons um etwa I0 Proz. hBher lag, als der der Kontrolle, und dab sich eine Erh~hung der Trockenschwindung erbag, die sich von i0 Proz. wghrend der frtiheren und der sp~teren Stufen bis ungef~hr 25 Proz. wNhrend der Mittelstufen bewegte. Die nach 7 bis 8-t~giger Negelnachbehandlung erzielte Festigkeit war dutch die Verwendung des Superweichmachers nicht beeinflusst, dagegen war die nach 18-monatigem Trocknen erhaltene Festigkeit um etwa 25 Proz. gesteigert. Die Wirkung, die der 'Melment' auf den Elastizit~tmodul auslibte, war vernach l~Issigb ar.
