β¦ Synopsis
The corrosion of mild steel in ethylene glycol monoethyl ether (EGME+vater mixtures has heen investigated. Below 5 o/0 water, no attack occurred. Between 5 and 20 o/0 water, localized attack resulted. Above 20 %, water uniform attack took place. Viscosity, conductivity and dielectric measurements were carried out to investigate the physicochemical properties of the solutions and to relate these properties to the nature of the corrosion process. Impedance techniques were used to confirm the models presented. A rapid test using a EGME-water-sodium chloride mixture for screening corrosion inhibitive pigments is outlined.

The purpose of this research work was to investigate the effect of adding a polar organic co-solvent, namely ethylene glycol, as well as anionic and cationic surfactants on the zeta potential of solid asphaltene particles dispersed in aqueous 1.0 mM NaNO 3 solutions. In the absence of ethylene glyco
