โœฆ Synopsis

Fra,gments of the spinal cord or medulla oblongata of salamander larvae, when transpanted to the tail fin of other larvae, display spontaneous convulsive activity. This has been revealed by permitting the nerve fibers which grow from these deplants to innervate limbs grafted near them. Within a few weeks the limbs show spontaneous twitching which closely resembles that seen in epileptiform seizures. These activities of the nerve cord deplants were first described by

Little information is available on the actions of b-carboline convulsants on insect GABA receptors or their potential as insecticides. Accordingly, two compounds (3-ethoxy-b-carboline, 3-EBC ; dimethoxy-b-carboline-3-methyl ester, DMCM) were studied for their eรพects on Drosophila melanogaster larval

Ubiquitin (Ub) modification of different proteins plays an important role in many cellular processes. However, the best studied function of Ub is the labeling of proteins committed to rapid degradation, by an ATPdependent pathway. We previously found that this pathway is operative in the central ner

In spite of a large number of investigations, there is little evidence in support of the hypothesis that electromagnetic fields (EMFs) cause birth defects or genetic abnormalities. Exposure to magnetic fields has, however, been associated with development of brain tumors in both childhood residentia
