The Β―uorescence of pyrenyl labelled polystyrene has been investigated. The ratio of excimer to monomer intensities (I e /I m ) is found to vary tortuously with increasing concentration (C) and displays two critical concentration points, C at about 3.2 Γ 10 Γ2 g ml Γ1 and C m at about 0.32 g ml Γ1 .

Viscosities of solutions of polystyrene in toluene were measured for concentrations up to 400 kg m ~3 at 298 K. Polymers of molecular weights ranging from 8.7 x 103 to 2.4 x 106 were used. It is observed that viscosity of the polymer solution increases with increasing concentration and molecular wei
