β¦ Synopsis
This paper uses the component connection model as a setting for model order reduction. The actual reduction occurs on the component level as opposed to the composite system level. A theorem with proof is given relating the component level reduction to the established singular perturbation method. Concepts of system structure preservation and nonstructure preservation are discussed using the framework of the component connection model. An example is presented where a single machine-infinite bus power system is reduced using the techniques presented in this paper.

## Abstract The increasing operating frequencies and decreasing IC feature size call for 3βD electromagnetic (EM) methods, such as the Partial Element Equivalent Circuit (PEEC) method, as necessary tools for the analysis and design of highβspeed systems. Very large systems of equations are often ge
This paper is concerned with the dynamics of disordered periodic structures. The free vibration problem is considered. A method akin to the Rayleigh method is presented. This method is particularly suitable for the study of periodic structures as it exploits the nominal periodicity leading to an app
It can be shown that a wide family of digital textures corresponds to percolation models (Pikaz and Averbuch, 1996, Technical Report 315/96, Tel-Aviv University). Percolation models supply statistical results and theoretical background for connectivity analysis. This paper focuses on the relation be
