Small d e v i a t i o n s from t h e D e b ij e circle, as observed b y P o 1 e y a t a w a v e l e n g t h of 8 m m , are confirmed b y m e a s u r e m e n t s from 7.5 to 3 m m w a v e l e n g t h a n d explained on t h e basis of r o t a t i o n a l transitions. P o w e r a t different w a v e l e n g t h s is g e n e r a t e d b y 1N26 c r y s t a l multipliers being excited b y a 2K33 or a Q K 3 0 6 klystron. T h e sample fills the space b e t w e e n a t h i n mica w i n d o w a n d a m o v a b l e piston in a r e c t a n g u l a r silver waveguide. T h e d a t a are o b t a i n e d from t h e s t a n d i n g w a v e ratio in f r o n t of t h e window.
