There has been a dramatic demonstration in the aftermath of "Operation Desert Storm" (ODS) of the recurring nature of many institutions and persons in the United States to continue to reframe the horrors of war in a more sanitized manner, and to "confuse the warrior with the war" . The remarkable surge of relief, euphoria, and rekindled feelings of pride and patriotism over the cease-fire and Iraqi troop withdrawals from Kuwait also contributed to a denial or minimimization of the degree of human suffering and loss, both short-and long-term.
