β¦ Synopsis
Five cases of Maydl's hernia are presented. These were seen in Accra by one surgeon who operated on 26 patients with strangulated inguinal hernia in 12 months.
The clinical picture is described, and it is suggested that it may be possible to make a preoperative diagnosis of either a multiple-loop hernia or the strangulated afferent-loop syndrome, particularly in early cases.
