✦ Synopsis

The nitrate ion has high chemical stability, especially at low concentrations. Standard reduction potentials indicate that it should serve as an excellent oxidizing agent, but in order to react with suitable reducing agents to form elemental nitrogen or ammonia, special conditions, such as catalysts and high temperature and pressure, are required. High critical current density YBa 2 Cu 3 O 7Γ€x (YBCO) films were prepared by solution deposition of aqueous non-fluorine precursors. Non-fluorine polymer-assisted deposition (PAD) processes utilizing rheology modifiers and chelating agents were used to produce 50 nm films with a critical current den
