The design of FSSs with double-square-loop patch elements has been illustrated theoretically and experimentally. The differential evolution strategy, a very efficient optimization algorithm, is employed to tune the FSS unit-cell dimensions. The equivalent-circuit model (ECM), a fast computation meth

โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
In this Letter, we analyzed a crossโshapedโfed opened print slot antenna using FDTD method. The VSWR, radiation patterns of this configuration are presented. The measured bandwidth of the proposed antenna is โผ 86.1% (2.0 โฅ VSWR). The radiation pattern null of opened (etched ground plane) slot exhibited a much better than notโopened (not etching ground plane) slot at the high frequency band. Offset and other design parameters of the antenna lead to the good impedance matching in a wide frequency band. The proposed open antenna obtained not only wideโband but also good radiation patterns characteristics. This antenna may be applied for mobile system, WBAN, Home network, Biomedical instruments, and other wireless communication systems. ยฉ 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A model of the printed CPW-fed slot antenna based on the lossy transmission-line method is presented. An original field distribution inside the slots is proposed to compute the input impedance of CPW-fed radiating slot antennas. The theoretical and experimental results are compared successfully in t
