✦ Synopsis
DC current and ac admittance at two frequencies (63.2 and 632 Hz) were measured for monocrystalline nickel electrodes [(11 l), (MO), (110) and (ZiO)] in 0.1 M KOH, under conditions of slow potential sweeps between -0.45 and +0.55 V. Three intertacial processes could be distinguished analyzing the dependencies of capacitance at both frequencies, only one being sensitive to the crystallographic orientation. The physical meaning of the measured capacities is discussed, and some conclusions on the rates of the interfacial proccssts, as well as on the surface reconstruction of the electrodes drawn.
