✦ Synopsis

Philip's equation, relating heat flux through a heat flux meter to that through the media surrounding the meter, was transformed to express the calibration factor of the heat flux meter as a linear function of the thermal conductivity of the medium encompassing the meter. The slope of the line depends on the geometry and the thermal conductivity of the meter. The heat flux meter was calibrated in media of widely different thermal conductivities. The relation between the calibration factor and conductivity was linear, but with a slope, different from the theoretical value, presumably due to the heterogeneous structure of the heat flux meter.

## Abstract A factor, secreted by theca cells, inhibits FSH induced resumption of meiosis in bovine oocytes that are surrounded by cumulus cells which are attached to a piece of the membrana granulosa (COCGs). In order to characterize this factor, theca cell conditioned medium (CMt) was heat‐treate
