✦ Synopsis
In the present communication we wish to report on the result of the electrophilic carbonylation by using Br2-SbCls-liq.SO2 system at -70°C to introduce -COOH or -COOR group into aromatic hydrocarbons and amines.
Carbon monoxide gas was bubbled into the solution consisting of bromine (0.05 mole), SbCl6 (0.05 mole) and 50 ml of liq.SOz at -7O'C for 1 hour while stirring.
