β¦ Synopsis
Phosphor-Tin.--An allov of tin with phosphorus is much used in (~erlnanv, especially in tile l)reparation of phosphor-bronze. The mixture should contain at least 9 per cent. of phosphoru~ ill order to secure a thorough incorporation of the tin. If more than 9 per cent. is introduced the excess oxidizes and is driven off by the heat. A mixture which contains ( β’ ,)~ per cent. of phosphorus satisfies the tbrmnla PeSn:., eorresp(mdinff to the oxide, t'20.;.--Der YbchMl:er.
