✦ Synopsis
Some spectroscopic properties of PbFa+ GeOz : ErFs glass ceramics under green line ( 19436 cm-' ) excitation were investigated at room temperature. Both absorption and emission spectra have been measured. The up-conversion of green radiation into violet (26455 cm-') and blue (24582 cm-') emission from Er3+ ion was observed in the compounds. The up-conversion process involves a two-photon absorption for these violet and blue emission bands. A fluorescence efftciency of 3.34 x 1 Ob4 has been estimated for the blue up-conversion emission at room temperature from the sample doped with 1.8 mol% ErF,.
