This sequel to The Quest of the Thirteen begins one year into Gobius' reign after he is crowned King of Mavinor. Though he proves himself to be a just and righteous ruler, the people of Mavinor begin to shun his philosophy, especially as it pertains to their longtime archenemy, Xamnon. When an evil plot is hatched against the king-one with several parties involved, all of whom have their own personal agenda-Mavinor is turned upside-down. The people unwittingly become an accomplice in a much greater, overall scheme to change the course of the world and seal its fate. As the plot evolves and nears completion, Gobius' royal guards band together with several of their friends to save Mavinor and prevent the unthinkable from happening. But will they be too late to stop the evil that has arisen, an evil so formidable that it is poised to take control of not only their kingdom, but even the entire world? Facing odds nearly as impossible as that which they faced on the quest for the Medallion, our heroes stand together and vow to fight to the very end...for their king and their kingdom.
