Bethβs a reporter on her way back to her mum's house in Oxford from a job interview in London. With a few hours to spare, she goes to check on a friend's house. She'd promised she would and now seemed like a good time to do it. The house is just a twenty-minute train ride from Oxford. It's a lovely sunny day and a walk in the country will do her good and give her time to think. But things don't quite work out how she expected.
THE KILLING
She's a journalist, she's no stranger to the darker side of life, so when Beth leaves the icy cold weather of London to head for the warmer shores of Athens to cover the political situation, she's looking forward to a few days in the sun and meeting up with old friends, but that's not what happens.
Just hours after arriving in Athens, she's having lunch with her friend Helen who's behaving strangely...
Eventually, she tells Beth what's wrong. A mutual friend didnβt show up last night as arranged. No phone call or text message to say he wasn't coming, which is out of character with him.
As well as not answering his calls, nobodyβs seen him since yesterday afternoon, not even his wife.
Later, when Beth's in the bar of her hotel, she notices the headlines of a local newspaper tell of a shooting outside a bar by the beach. Could this have something to do with their missing friend?
PANIC
Crime reporter Beth is thinking of changing jobs and applying for a job with her friend Dev at MI6. It's Easter and her friend Helen wants her to go to Spain and stay at a friend's hotel with her. An Easter weekend break in Spain will give her time to think things over, so she agrees.
Everything's just as it should be for the first few days - great hotel, lovely beaches, but it doesn't last. Late one night while driving along the coastal road in Malaga; she sees hooded figures leaving the beach. Slowing down, she turns off the engine and watches. Then, to her surprise; she sees a Spanish friend of Helen's hurrying the hooded figures to waiting mini vans.
She returns the following night, and it happens again, but this time she sees someone she knows very well from the UK who's wanted by the police. The trouble is she's been seen watching them and from that moment on her life's in terrible danger.

" Great series ..great author.
This was an exciting series..I loved how the 1st book flowed thru to the 2nd and so forth. The one novel that I read twice was ...Panic ..I wanted to see how it went with the other books and it did. Cara Alexander writes great books ..I find myself looking for her other books. Can't wait until the next book comes out. Get this series of books you'll be entertained from the beginning to the end.
