โœฆ Synopsis

The aim of the present paper is to investigate the influence of the fractal geometry on the stress and displacement fields in plate bending problems by using a boundary element scheme combined with an iterative approximation procedure. The method proposed here is based on the description of the fractal as the attractor of a deterministic iterated function system. It is an iterative method which approximates the fractal boundary by classical C t curves in order to avoid singularities. The method proposed may be seen as an extension of the classical BIEM to the ease of plates having boundaries of fractal geometry. Copyright

In this paper, a BEM-based domain meshless method is developed for the analysis of moderately thick plates modeled by Mindlin's theory which permits the satisfaction of three physical conditions along the plate boundary. The presented method is achieved using the concept of the analog equation of Ka
