Modelling of physical phenomena involved approximation. This volume is an accumulation of authors' thoughts on methods of modern mathematical techniques of approximation. The topics covered are: polynomial approximation, polynomial splines, quasilinearization, differential approximation and quadrature, exponential approximation, Riccati equation, solution of approximate equations, magnetic field determination.

These techniques are presented without any theoretical justification. The book is produced by offset from an awfully typed manuscript which does not make the reading attractive.
