Stark shifts have been measured for a number of transitions in the origin bdnd of the x 'A"-% 'A' electronic transition in HCF, using Doppler-limited optical Stark spectroscopy. These transitions were observed in dc fields of up to 220 kV/cm, and ehclted by a single-mode tunable dye laser. From the
