"The Archers" is the first novel of an action packed saga in medieval England during the days of King Richard and the crusades. The action packed and reality grounded saga continues in subsequent novels as William and the former serfs and free men of the Company of archers begin to build one of the world's most fearsome fighting forces. They become the first Marines in a desperate effort to improve their lot in a crude, brutal and unforgiving world - fighting men trained to fight on both land and sea and willing to do so.
