✦ Synopsis
The solubility of selected halogenhydrocarbons in liquid nitrogen has been measured at 77.4 K 1-5 and on the basis of this measurement the parameter I 12 in the Scatchard-Hildebrand equation has been calculated. The properties of the pure halogenhydrocarbons (necessary for the calculation of the solubility by the Preston-Prausnitz method) collected from various experimental sources were verified by the Deiters equation of state. It was shown that the values of the parameters in the Deiters equation of state decrease when the number of fluorine atoms in the molecule of the halogen derivatives of methane increase.
