✦ Synopsis
Large-scale changes in the Eastern European countries are opening up new and different view-points on the role of science and technology. An appropriate national development strategy in this field is especially important for technologies with iafrastructural influence, such as information or control technology. Because Slovenia is regarded as the most developed of the former socialist economies, problems, experiences and opinions related to the development of control technology there may also be valuable elsewhere. In this paper, a concept of a control technology development framework is introduced, based on a holistic approach, and taking into account different activities, problem areas and areas of implementation.
