โฆ Synopsis
An impedance study of the Pt(II)/Pt and the AgI/Ag electrode in molten LiC1-KC1 eutectic has been published by Hill et al. t. These authors analyzed their data in two ways. Firstly, they followed classical analysis, making Randles' plots of the components of the faradaic impedance, obtained after substitution of values for the electrolyte resistance R e and the double layer capacity Cel. Secondly, they followed the complex-plane method, plotting the components Z" and Z' of the cell impedance against each other for varying concentration. Although both methods seemed to act self-consistently, the results were not identical. In the present paper we intend to examine whether the procedures mentioned have been correctly applied or not.
