✦ Synopsis

For the purpose of ascertaining the limits of applicability of a previously proposed model [l] of non-propagating shear delaminations for analysing a three-layer rod with delamination-type defects, the numerical solution of the corresponding threedimensional problem in the theory of elasticity is constructed and analysed using Version 6.1 of the ANSYS (Analysis of Systems) finite-element software package. The limits of applicability of the proposed delamination model are estimated. 0
